Ghost Encounters

One of my paranormal group's members has been hard at work putting together a web show from some of our teams investigations. The show is called Ghost Encounters. If you want to check out some video from one of our recent ghost hunts at a haunted rectory click here. The show is posted in four parts. I hope you enjoy it. Hopefully some more episodes will be coming up in the future!

Happy Monday!

  2. Watching the video: Questions 1) Why is it filmed in the dark? Is this necessary for ghost activity? I would think that ghosts wouldn't care if it was light or dark outside.

    2) I see that you seem to be tracking EVP activity but are you also measuring temperature changes and or using motion trackers? I would think that we would need to debunk the sounds you are hearing as natural shifts in the structure just to be sure.

  3. Great questions Michael!

There are actually several reasons we film in the dark. I did a whole post on that subject when I first started blogging, I'll see if I can find it and post the link later. We've found it's much quieter at night. We don't get as much outside noise from cars, people etc. at night so it's easier to hear evps. There's also theories that ghosts are more likely to appear using IR light on cameras so ghost hunters usually favor them and they work best at night.

We experiment with a lot if different equipment because we never know for sure what works and what doesn't. We spend awhile in every building listening to the natural sounds each structure makes when we set up our equipment so we can try to tell what's normal for that building and what isn't. If course, natural things can be mistaken for paranormal things frequently. All we can do is show what we hear and see and let others decide for themselves if it's paranormal or not.

  4. Hmmmm. Your outings seem like a lot of fun in the sense that I think that I would enjoy just listening to the things that your brain picks out when you are paying attention.

However, from a scientific point of view, I think you guys could use some more equipment to better eliminate certain environmental conditions in order to isolate true paranormal phenomena (if that stuff actually exists).

    Thanks for the response.
