Creature Feature: The Adjule

The Adjule is a type of wild dog in the Sahara Desert in  North Africa that local nomads believe roams the area. It takes the appearance of a black dog or wolf-like creature that hunts in pack. Some people think it is more of a phantom creature than a biological animal.

Most of the sightings are thought to be cases of misidentification with people simply seeing packs of wild dogs in the area. But, In the legends and stories of the people who believe in it, this creature will most likely live on.

  1. Have you heard about the black dog that truckers sometimes see on the road at night? It could fall under that category if not misidentified.

Also, it is more plausible than some creatures.

  2. How could a dog survive in the Sahara with all that heat and no water?

  3. I'm not sure how they survive but I've read that there are packs of wild dogs living in the area so there must be some sort of food/water source there.
