Weekly News Round-up 8/17/11

Wales Online posted an article about a hoax photo of a girl that has been appearing all over the internet.

Hufffington Post posted an article about a former UFO project chief apologizing for intentionally discrediting reports of UFO activity. You can read it here. They also posted an article about a man who broke into a woman's house, claiming to be a 500 year old vampire who needed to feed. I'm guessing someone who had actually been around that long would know better.

NPR posted put up an article about a group hiring a psychic to help locate an escaped cow. You can read it here.

  1. Okay miss paranormal...would you ever hire a psychic? Have you ever put your hard-earned money on the line for one? If so, why? I'm curious. It's interesting that people would resort to hiring a psychic to find a missing livestock but the animal is probably worth several thousand dollars. I would think though that they had insurance (more reliable in my opinion than a psychic).

  2. Personally, I wouldn't hire a psychic, mostly because I like the idea of life being a suprise. It kind of feels like spoiling the ending if you get advanced warning. I don't have a problem with people doing it though, if it makes them happy. I'm really not sure why the people are putting so much energy into getting a cow back. I think it's a rural area so maybe they are just looking for some entertainment.
